T Level in Health
The T Level in Health is a two-year, full-time course for learners aged 16-18, designed as a high-quality alternative to A Levels and apprenticeships. This qualification combines classroom-based learning (80%) with industry placement (20%), including a minimum of 315 hours of real work experience in a healthcare setting. It is ideal for students who want to progress into careers such as nursing, healthcare support or other health professions, or move on to higher education.
You will develop a strong understanding of the healthcare sector, combining scientific knowledge with practical skills required for working in health settings.

You will learn through a combination of classroom-based theory, practical activities and industry placement experience to prepare you for real-world healthcare environments.
During your industry placement, you will gain experience in:
- Working within healthcare environments
- Health, safety and environmental regulations
- Managing information and data
- Ethical practice in healthcare
- Communication and teamwork
- Research, project work and reflective practice
After successfully completing this course, you can progress to:
- University degrees such as adult nursing, healthcare or related subjects
- Higher or degree apprenticeships in the health sector
- Employment in healthcare support roles
Assessment is carried out through a combination of:
- Examinations
- Employer-set project
- Synoptic assessment
- Industry placement performance and portfolio
To successfully complete the placement, you will be required to work with an external employer, meet your learning objectives, complete the required hours, maintain a placement logbook and receive a positive employer appraisal.
- 5 GCSEs (grades 4 and above), including English, Maths and at least one Science subject (flexibility may apply)
- OR Level 2 qualification
- An interview may be required; we’ll be in touch after you apply to invite you to an interview if needed
- Alternative entry via relevant experience may be acceptable
