Study Programmes

Study Programmes (for students aged under 19*)

If you’re under 19, you’ll be enrolled on a Study Programme designed to prepare you for your next step, whether that’s employment, an apprenticeship, university, or further training.

Your programme brings together technical knowledge, essential qualifications and personal development, giving you the skills, confidence and experience to succeed.

What’s included in your Study Programme?

Technical & Professional Qualifications

You’ll work towards a qualification that matches your career goals and ambitions.

We offer courses from Entry Level to Level 3 (A Level equivalent), with some subjects available at Level 4 and above.

Your chosen course will develop your technical knowledge, practical skills and industry understanding.

English and/or Maths

English and maths are essential for employment, apprenticeships and university study.

If you have not yet achieved a GCSE grade 4 (grade C) or above in English and/or maths, you will continue working towards these qualifications as part of your programme. Strengthening these skills will improve your confidence, broaden your opportunities and support your long-term career progression.

Employability & Work Experience

Work experience is a key part of your Study Programme.

You’ll complete a meaningful work placement that allows you to:

  • Apply what you’ve learned in a real working environment
  • Develop professional behaviours
  • Build confidence and workplace skills
  • Strengthen your CV

This experience helps you stand out to future employers and universities.

Personal & Professional Development

Success isn’t just about qualifications, it’s also about attitude, resilience and personal growth.

Through tutorials and enrichment activities, you’ll develop:

  • Study skills
  • Time management
  • Communication skills
  • Confidence and professionalism

Students are expected to attend regularly and follow the College Conduct Policy, helping to create a positive and professional learning environment.

Tutorial Support

Every full-time student is assigned a Personal Tutor.

Your tutor plays a key role in helping you stay on track, achieve your goals and prepare for your future.

Your Personal Tutor will:

  • Ensure you understand your course and what’s expected of you
  • Monitor your progress and help you set clear targets
  • Provide support with personal challenges that may affect your studies
  • Refer you to specialist support services where needed
  • Help you plan your next step – whether that’s further study, an apprenticeship, employment or university

You will take part in a weekly group tutorial, giving you dedicated time to:

  • Review progress
  • Develop employability and life skills
  • Prepare for progression
  • Ask questions and access support

Our tutorial system ensures you are supported academically, personally and professionally, so you can achieve your full potential.

Further details about your individual Study Programme will be discussed at interview and confirmed at enrolment.

“Studying here has been the best experience”
City of Westminster College Logo

“At City of Westminster College, my experience has been the best of all the other colleges I’ve attended. The reason I like CWC is because the teachers make my journey easier with assessment and exams. I’m a Level Two Science student and I enjoy my lessons because most of them are practical, which are helpful for me. I love studying at CWC because you meet people from other countries – all over the world and from all different communities.”

“Getting into security has opened doors for me.”
City of Westminster College Logo

“The training process was seamless. I had good instructors who were very flexible, supporting people of all learning levels. On the last day after our exams, a security company came and did a presentation. We had the opportunity to have an interview afterwards. I told them about my experiences, and they said I would be a good fit. I formally applied for a role and started with the company soon after. Getting into security has opened doors for me. I hope I will continue to take steps up the career ladder.”
