Private Hire

The unique and multi-functional facilities at City of Westminster College lend themselves to many different types of events. We host board meetings, networking events, general industry events, film and photo shoots, celebration events and regular leisure club bookings for both small and large corporations alike, for local individuals, national and international companies plus many more.

Paddington Green Campus is City of Westminster College’s flagship Campus and has won prestigious RIBA and NLA New London Architecture awards since it opened in January 2011. Many of its superb spaces are available for short and long-term hire, including the Sarah Siddons Theatre, Sports Hall, Dance Studio and a wide range of teaching and presentation rooms.

As well as providing breathtaking central London surroundings for your event, we can assist with its organisation. Our in-house caterers are able to provide anything from tea /coffee and biscuits to champagne and canapés. Our extensive contacts book means we can also provide guidance on sourcing additional specialist suppliers, such as cake makers, decorators, lighting and sound hire companies.

We are a busy working college, which means that during core weekday hours (9am-5pm) there is limited availability on some spaces. Availability increases during half term and holiday periods and there is also substantial availability at weekends and on some dates from 5pm until we close at 9pm (6.30pm on Fridays).

The Atrium

The Atrium is at the heart of City of Westminster College’s Paddington Green Campus and demonstrates the superb quality of the building. Accessed through the Campus card-operated speed gates, this light and airy setting offers views to the interlocking floors above and the building’s domed translucent roof light. On the ground floor, the open-plan area features a grey slate floor, with informal soft seating, tables and chairs adjacent to the wide wooden staircase.

The impressive double-height Learning Resource Centre is located off the Atrium on the 1st floor. On floors above this, tables and chairs are positioned around the Atrium to provide flexible meeting and workspace. This space has been used as a backdrop for Photo Shoots, Films and Shows.

The Boardroom Suite

The Boardroom Suite is a superb purpose-built setting for high-level meetings, conferences and presentations. Linked by an attractive ‘breakout’ space with informal soft seating, the Suite features two large rooms. The Boardroom itself measures 72m2 and is equipped with a 70-inch interactive display screen with full audio capability, and a slightly smaller duplicate screen. It can comfortably accommodate 32 people in an open square layout. The Training Room measures over 82m2 and offers even greater flexibility – seating up to 60 for AV presentations, or 32 in a boardroom layout. It is also equipped with a 70-inch interactive screen.

The Boardroom Suite benefits from a nearby roof terrace, creating a wonderful space for social events or relaxing between conference sessions. There are additional meeting rooms on the 6th, 5th and 4th floors – ranging in size from 10m2 to 200m2 – and these can be booked independently or in conjunction with the Boardroom Suite.

Meeting Rooms & Pods

Paddington Green Campus offers a variety of glass teaching / tutorial / meeting rooms and IT pods on each floor. These spaces benefit from soundproofing and excellent presentation facilities.

The College also offers meeting/teaching rooms of various sizes on every level of the Campus, that are ideally suited to classes, workshops, presentations and formal or informal meetings. These include Glass Pods which are soundproofed, located on most floors.

The well-equipped training/meeting rooms are located on the 4th, 5th and 6th floors. The 6th floor rooms range in size from 10m2 to 52m2 and can be used independently or in conjunction with the Boardroom Suite and roof terrace.

The 4th and 5th floor meeting rooms measure 200m2 and 136m2, respectively and have retractable walls that enable them to be adapted for use as one large room or up to four interconnected rooms. The Campus also has many other teaching rooms on other floors that offer excellent facilities for smaller meetings, presentations and events.

Roof Terrace

The sixth floor roof terrace faces west, catching the afternoon sun. It overlooks the tranquil spaces of Paddington Green and St Mary’s Gardens and offers spectacular views across north and west London.

With disabled access, this generous 350m2 area has a capacity of around 300 and is accessed directly from the Atrium. It has outdoor lighting and power and is set out as a café style arrangement of chairs and tables.

Sarah Siddons Theatre

City of Westminster College’s Sarah Siddons Theatre is a professional-quality flexible performance/theatre space on the ground floor of Paddington Green Campus. This impressive auditorium offers a wide variety of configurations and is equipped with a high-specification digital sound and lighting system, one cinema-sized and one large screen and two adjacent dressing rooms.

The Theatre measures around 320m2, with dividing doors that can be closed to create two more intimate spaces. There are 138 retractable raked seats and up to 100 additional moveable seats, making this a space that can accommodate events ranging from lectures and conferences to performances and workshops.

Sarah Siddons Theatre is located just to the right of the main entrance doors to Paddington Green Campus and has a separate foyer suitable for creating a registration and cloakroom area or for serving drinks and canapés. The nearby Garden Café and informal seating area provides seating for 90 and there is an open-air terrace providing additional space.

Sports Hall and Gym

Paddington Green Campus features a beautiful, naturally lit sports hall and accompanying fitness suite. The 600m2 beech-panelled Sports Hall is built to Sport England specifications and can be used for a wide range of activities. It features six floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking St Mary’s Gardens (which can be closed off with shutters). Retractable floor-to-ceiling nets enable the space to be divided into four courts for training or competitive events. There is a high-quality Gym/Fitness Suite on the second floor overlooking the Hall which has state of the art equipment.

Dance Studio

The 125m2 Dance Studio on the second floor of Paddington Green Campus is an attractive contemporary space that accommodates around 30 people for dance and movement rehearsals and workshops. Featuring full-width mirrors and a high-quality sprung wooden floor, it offers a superb integral sound system and offers easy access to male and female changing rooms with lockers and showers.

Workshops

Paddington Green Campus has several industry standard workshops including plumbing, construction and electrical installation. The well-equipped rooms are all located on the ground floor.

Hair & Beauty Salon

Located on the ground floor of our Paddington Campus, our modern Hair & Beauty Salon is available for private hire.

Designed to industry standards and equipped with the latest professional equipment and technology, the salon provides a stylish, fully fitted space suitable for training sessions, workshops, assessments, demonstrations and industry events.

“Studying here has been the best experience”
City of Westminster College Logo

“At City of Westminster College, my experience has been the best of all the other colleges I’ve attended. The reason I like CWC is because the teachers make my journey easier with assessment and exams. I’m a Level Two Science student and I enjoy my lessons because most of them are practical, which are helpful for me. I love studying at CWC because you meet people from other countries – all over the world and from all different communities.”

“Getting into security has opened doors for me.”
City of Westminster College Logo

“The training process was seamless. I had good instructors who were very flexible, supporting people of all learning levels. On the last day after our exams, a security company came and did a presentation. We had the opportunity to have an interview afterwards. I told them about my experiences, and they said I would be a good fit. I formally applied for a role and started with the company soon after. Getting into security has opened doors for me. I hope I will continue to take steps up the career ladder.”
