Work Experience

At City of Westminster College and College of North West London, we work in partnership with a wide range of employers to provide meaningful work experience opportunities that help our students prepare for the world of work.

Work experience is a key part of many Study Programmes and plays an important role in helping students develop the skills, confidence and behaviours employers are looking for.

What We Offer

Our dedicated Work Experience Team supports both students and employers by creating tailored opportunities that lead to real, sustainable outcomes.

We work closely with curriculum and student support teams to prepare 16–18-year-old learners for the workplace and match them with suitable placement opportunities, both paid and unpaid, with local and national employers.

Our aim is simple: to break down barriers to employment and ensure every student is work-ready.

Support for Students

Students can drop in to see the Work Experience Team to discuss their course, career goals and placement preferences.

We provide support with:

CV writing and applications
Interview skills and preparation
Finding and securing work placements
Preparing for the workplace
Job search advice and guidance

We help you build the skills and confidence needed to succeed, not just in your placement, but in your future career.

Working With Employers

We welcome partnerships with employers who want to support and develop local talent.

Employers can contact us to discuss:

Offering work experience placements
Attending jobs and careers fairs
Promoting live vacancies to students
Delivering careers talks or workshops
Supporting curriculum projects
