UCG’s Care Leaver Covenant Commitment
UCG has formally pledged its commitment to the Care Leaver Covenant, demonstrating our commitment to supporting care experienced students throughout their education and helping them achieve positive futures.
What is the Care Leaver Covenant?
The Care Leaver Covenant is a national programme that brings together organisations across the UK to provide practical opportunities and support for care leavers. By signing the Covenant, UCG has committed to improving the educational experience of care experienced students and helping remove barriers to success.
We commit to:
- Providing a welcoming and inclusive environment.
- Offering dedicated Student Support.
- Helping students access financial support.
- Supporting progression into university, apprenticeships and employment.
- Working with local authorities and partner agencies.
- Listening to student feedback to continually improve our support.
- Raising awareness of the needs of care experienced students across the college.
