Student Stylists Participate in London Fashion Week

Four talented hair stylists from the College of North West London have participated in London Fashion Week 2022.

Students Yorida Tsegay, Julie Bravo, Muzhda Khorrami, and Nesreen Qrich provided hair styling to models as they prepared for the catwalk at the world-famous festival of fashion.

The creative and dedicated students impressed the organisers with the flair, skill, and ability to work in a high pressure environment at the event on Saturday 18 February.

London Fashion Week runs from 18 February to 22 February and celebrates the creativity, innovation, and culture that makes the capital such an exciting place to work, live, and study.

The United Colleges Group is proud of all its students who have participated in London Fashion Week and sends its congratulations to them for making the most of the opportunity.

The group also sends its thanks to the organisers of London Fashion Week for offering this valuable experience to its students and looks forward to continuing to work with them as important partners in the future.

Level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing student, Julie Bravo, said:

“London Fashion Week was an amazing opportunity to see how everything works and to come together to put on an amazing show. I learned how to deal with the pressure of time keeping, how to work with another team, and about the importance of constantly communicating so the models knew where to go next. All I can say is thank you to Angel for believing in us, encouraging us, and for even coming on the day to give us all a hug – it meant so much to us.”

Level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing student, Muzhda Khorrami, said:

“Being part of London Fashion Week was amazing. I really enjoyed the experience, which allowed me to put what I’ve learned at college into practice. The organisers were great; they let us work right next to the professional stylists which was really useful and allowed me to learn a lot.”

Stephen Davis, Group Principal and CEO of the United Colleges Group, said:

“London Fashion Week is a key date in our wonderful city’s cultural calendar and I’m thrilled to see some of our talented students taking part at this high level. Real, practical experience combined with classroom learning is an excellent way to prepare for a rewarding future career and taking part in this kind of event is a key element of that winning combination. I want to thank our friends and colleagues at London Fashion Week for making this possible for our students.”

“The facilities here are brilliant. You have range of courses you can study. My teachers in the Performing Arts department have got history in the industry, which is very useful. You get to ask them for advice and actual knowledge from the industry, and take that into your own work within the college also afterwards. ”

“Studying here has been the best experience”
City of Westminster College Logo

“At City of Westminster College, my experience has been the best of all the other colleges I’ve attended. The reason I like CWC is because the teachers make my journey easier with assessment and exams. I’m a Level Two Science student and I enjoy my lessons because most of them are practical, which are helpful for me. I love studying at CWC because you meet people from other countries – all over the world and from all different communities.”

“My experience studying at City of Westminster College has been amazing. It’s been so welcoming; I enjoy it very much because of the staff members we have here. They’re very approachable and I could come to them with any question, and it will be answered straight away. And if I come early for a class, I can use the Learning Resources Centre, I can use the computers, the books, just to continue all my studies outside the classroom time.”

“Getting into security has opened doors for me.”
City of Westminster College Logo

“The training process was seamless. I had good instructors who were very flexible, supporting people of all learning levels. On the last day after our exams, a security company came and did a presentation. We had the opportunity to have an interview afterwards. I told them about my experiences, and they said I would be a good fit. I formally applied for a role and started with the company soon after. Getting into security has opened doors for me. I hope I will continue to take steps up the career ladder.”
