CWC Students Celebrated at Annual Awards Ceremony
Students, staff, families and distinguished guests gathered at Paddington Green Campus on Tuesday to celebrate the outstanding achievements of learners at this year’s City of Westminster College’s Student Awards.
Despite record-breaking summer temperatures, the celebrations were filled with energy, pride and inspiration as students from across the college were recognised for their hard work, determination and achievements throughout the year.
The ceremony was opened with a stunning vocal performance by Lina Lipciute, a Music student, whose performance set the tone for an inspiring evening of celebration.
The awards recognised excellence across a wide range of categories, including Improving Student of the Year, Study Programme Student of the Year, Adult Learner of the Year, Supported Internship Award, Sports Award, Sustainability Award, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Award and Overcoming Barriers Award.
We were delighted to welcome Honorary Alderman Councillor Guthrie McKie from Westminster City Council and UCG Chair of Corporation, Franklin Asante, who presented awards to students throughout the ceremony.
The event also featured an inspiring speech from alumna and international gymnast Marfa Ekimova. A medal-winning athlete who has represented Great Britain on the world stage, Marfa shared her journey from student to elite athlete, encouraging learners to believe in themselves, embrace challenges and pursue their ambitions with confidence and determination.
