United Colleges Group is proud to have been selected by the Department for Education to take part in a national skills campaign, which will air on ITV and Channel 4 this week and continue to be shown over the coming months.
The campaign shines a spotlight on the vital role of further education in developing the workforce of the future and addressing key skills shortages across the UK. As part of the campaign, Pamela Golingay, a Health & Social Care lecturer at UCG and a qualified nurse, features in the advert, highlighting the real-world expertise our teaching staff bring into the classroom. The filming also took place in our hospital ward at Paddington Campus, which provides an real-world learning environment for students.
The hospital ward was funded by the Local Skills Improvement Fund (LSIF) as part of the Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP), specifically to help address critical NHS skills gaps in London. The inclusion of this facility in the campaign showcases how targeted investment in education can directly support local and national workforce needs.
Alongside Pamela, Clare Potter (Curriculum Manager for Construction & Building Trades) and Jhonny Enoe (Interim Assistant Principal for Engineering, Construction & the Built Environment) also took part in the campaign. Both play key roles in supporting learners and the wider college community, and their involvement highlights the breadth of expertise across UCG. We look forward to seeing their adverts released in due course.
Being chosen to participate in this national campaign is a significant achievement and a testament to the high-quality teaching, industry-relevant facilities, and strong employer links at City of Westminster College & College of North West London.
