Global Partnerships & International Opportunities

United Colleges Group is continuing to build its reputation as a leading international education partner through a growing network of global collaborations, student opportunities and knowledge exchange initiatives.

With a shared commitment to delivering inclusive, high-quality education, UCG is actively developing international partnerships, supporting students and staff to gain global perspectives while contributing to skills development worldwide.

Supporting the UK as a global education partner

UCG has recently backed the UK Government’s ambition for the country to become a “global partner of choice” in education. This vision aligns closely with our international strategy, which focuses on collaboration, mobility and the sharing of best practice across borders. Through this work, UCG is helping to position further education as a key driver of international engagement, creating pathways for learners while strengthening relationships with institutions overseas.

Welcoming global partners to London

At our Paddington Green Campus, City of Westminster College has hosted a number of international delegations, including a recent visit from Dutch colleges. These exchanges provide valuable opportunities to share expertise, explore joint curriculum development and showcase the UK’s further education offer. Similarly, the College has welcomed students and staff from Hangzhou No. 4 High School in China following an in-country visit to the school by UCG staff, further strengthening ties with long-standing partners and fostering cultural and academic exchange.

Expanding opportunities for students

UCG has also secured Government Turing Scheme funding to expand international opportunities for its students, enabling them to take part in global experiences that enhance their learning and employability, this year will see students take life-changing trips to Bali and Thailand. These initiatives are designed to broaden horizons, develop intercultural skills and prepare learners for an increasingly interconnected world.

Building partnerships and growing a global network

UCG is building meaningful international partnerships that benefit students, staff and partner institutions alike. From hosting delegations in London to developing overseas delivery models, we are investing in collaboration and innovation on a global scale. As part of this work, UCG is continuing cultural exchange work with partners in China with a focus on:

  • Sharing expertise and being a centre for A-Level and T-Level delivery
  • Supporting the development of vocational and academic pathways
  • Establishing joint ventures to expand access to British qualifications
  • Creating progression routes to UK higher education

Strengthening collaboration through knowledge exchange

At the College of North West London, UCG recently welcomed colleagues from the Department of Industrial Education at National Taiwan Normal University. The visit highlighted the Group’s investment in green skills, state-of-the-art facilities and student support. Delegates praised the insights gained during the visit and expressed a strong interest in future collaboration, particularly in curriculum development and sustainability-focused education.

“Studying here has been the best experience”
City of Westminster College Logo

“At City of Westminster College, my experience has been the best of all the other colleges I’ve attended. The reason I like CWC is because the teachers make my journey easier with assessment and exams. I’m a Level Two Science student and I enjoy my lessons because most of them are practical, which are helpful for me. I love studying at CWC because you meet people from other countries – all over the world and from all different communities.”

“Getting into security has opened doors for me.”
City of Westminster College Logo

“The training process was seamless. I had good instructors who were very flexible, supporting people of all learning levels. On the last day after our exams, a security company came and did a presentation. We had the opportunity to have an interview afterwards. I told them about my experiences, and they said I would be a good fit. I formally applied for a role and started with the company soon after. Getting into security has opened doors for me. I hope I will continue to take steps up the career ladder.”
