CWC Welcomes Erasmus+ Delegation from Ibiza

CWC Welcomes Erasmus+ Delegation from Ibiza

City of Westminster College, part of United Colleges Group (UCG), welcomed a delegation of educators from IES Santa Maria d’Eivissa this week as part of an Erasmus+ international collaboration focused on digital innovation, vocational education, and educational excellence.

The visiting delegation from Ibiza included Amalia García Francés (English Teacher), Ildefonso Antonio Delgado Moreira (IT Teacher), Cipriano Samperio Rodríguez (Maths Teacher) and Sara Tortajada Marí (School Social Worker).

The delegation was hosted by UCG’s Bilal Boat (Vice Principal), and Charlie Round-Turner (Assistant Principal for Creative Industries and Digital), who welcomed the visitors to the college’s state-of-the-art facilities and introduced them to our college’s approaches to teaching, student support, and digital learning.

The visit formed part of the Erasmus+ internationalisation programme and provided an opportunity for the Spanish delegation to observe best practice in vocational education and training (VET), particularly in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), digital transformation, and employer engagement.

During the visit, discussions focused on curriculum innovation, industry partnerships, inclusive student support systems, and the role of technology in preparing students for the future workforce. The delegation also explored how City of Westminster College delivers high-quality vocational and academic programmes aligned with the rapidly evolving needs of employers and learners.

The collaboration strongly reflects the UK Government’s continued emphasis on developing high-quality technical education, digital skills, and international partnerships within further education. The recent national education strategy has highlighted the importance of equipping learners with the skills needed for economic growth, technological advancement, and global collaboration; priorities that are embedded within the work of our college.

By sharing expertise and strengthening international educational links, both institutions demonstrated a shared commitment to creating opportunities for students and staff through global engagement and knowledge exchange.

The visit concluded with discussions around future partnership opportunities, including potential reciprocal visits to Ibiza, collaborative Erasmus+ initiatives, and continued professional exchange between staff from both institutions.

As UCG continues to expand its international partnerships and commitment to educational excellence, the college remains committed to driving forward initiatives that promote innovation, cultural exchange, and student success on a global scale.

“The facilities here are brilliant. You have range of courses you can study. My teachers in the Performing Arts department have got history in the industry, which is very useful. You get to ask them for advice and actual knowledge from the industry, and take that into your own work within the college also afterwards. ”

“Studying here has been the best experience”
City of Westminster College Logo

“At City of Westminster College, my experience has been the best of all the other colleges I’ve attended. The reason I like CWC is because the teachers make my journey easier with assessment and exams. I’m a Level Two Science student and I enjoy my lessons because most of them are practical, which are helpful for me. I love studying at CWC because you meet people from other countries – all over the world and from all different communities.”

“My experience studying at City of Westminster College has been amazing. It’s been so welcoming; I enjoy it very much because of the staff members we have here. They’re very approachable and I could come to them with any question, and it will be answered straight away. And if I come early for a class, I can use the Learning Resources Centre, I can use the computers, the books, just to continue all my studies outside the classroom time.”

“Getting into security has opened doors for me.”
City of Westminster College Logo

“The training process was seamless. I had good instructors who were very flexible, supporting people of all learning levels. On the last day after our exams, a security company came and did a presentation. We had the opportunity to have an interview afterwards. I told them about my experiences, and they said I would be a good fit. I formally applied for a role and started with the company soon after. Getting into security has opened doors for me. I hope I will continue to take steps up the career ladder.”
