Site Carpentry Level 3 Diploma
Site Carpentry Level 3 Diploma is an advanced construction course designed for adults who want to progress their career in the building industry. Delivered at our Willesden Campus, this course develops the high-level practical skills and technical knowledge required to work as a qualified site carpenter or progress into supervisory roles.
Ideal for those who have already completed a Level 2 qualification or gained industry experience, this course focuses on complex carpentry tasks, planning, and leadership skills needed in today’s construction sector.
Awarding Body:
You will build on your existing knowledge through a combination of practical workshop training and theory-based learning. Training takes place in fully equipped workshops using industry-standard tools and equipment.
- Health, Safety and Welfare in Construction
- Principles of organising, planning and pricing construction work
- First fix flooring, roofing and structural work
- Second fixing operations including doors and mouldings
- Advanced roofing and stair construction
- Setting up and using fixed and transportable machinery
You will also develop skills in project planning, problem-solving, and communication, preparing you for leadership responsibilities on-site.
After successfully completing this course, you can progress to:
- Employment as a qualified site carpenter
- First line supervisor or team leader roles in construction
- Advanced apprenticeships or specialist carpentry pathways
- Further training in construction management or site supervision
Assessment is carried out through a combination of practical assessments, coursework, and knowledge-based tasks. You will demonstrate your ability to complete advanced carpentry tasks to industry standards.
- 4–5 GCSEs (grades 4–5), including English (and maths if required) (flexibility may apply)
- OR Level 2 qualification
- An interview may be required; we’ll be in touch after you apply to invite you to an interview if needed
- Alternative entry via relevant experience may be acceptable

Level 3 Diploma in Site Carpentry (QCF)
