Music Performance and Production Level 2 Diploma
The UAL Level 2 Diploma in Music Performance and Production at City of Westminster College is a one-year course for students aged 16–18 who want to develop their skills as performers, producers and musicians. Based at our Paddington Green Campus, this course combines practical performance with music production, giving you a strong foundation in both live and studio-based music.
Awarding Body:
You will take part in a wide range of creative projects, developing both technical and performance skills through hands-on learning.

You will also take part in a wider study programme including English, maths, tutorials and work experience opportunities.
After completing this course, you can progress to higher-level study in music and creative industries.
Progression options include:
- UAL Level 3 Diploma or Extended Diploma in Music Performance and Production
- Other Level 3 courses in music, media or creative arts
This course also provides a foundation for future careers in music performance, production and sound engineering.
Assessment is continuous and based on both practical and theoretical work.
- Performance assessments including live and in-class performances
- Coursework and creative project work
- Written assignments and presentations
You will be expected to complete 6–8 hours of independent study each week.
- 2–4 GCSEs (grades 2, 3 or 4) OR Level 1 qualification (flexibility may apply)
- Ideally English or maths at grade 3–4, or willingness to study alongside
- An interview may be required; we’ll be in touch after you apply to invite you to an interview if needed
- Alternative entry via relevant experience may be acceptable
- Develop skills in both music performance and production
