Kathak is a classical dance form, originating from northern India. An amalgamation of both Hindu and Islamic tradition, Kathak's unique features are rhythmic compositions, fast footwork, spins, story-telling and lyrically graceful body and hand gestures. At its heart is performance, it is in the live interpretation of the techniques, movement, vocabulary, music and stories that make for a complete experience of the art-form.
