Information Technology Level 3 Extended Diploma
The Level 3 Extended Diploma in Information Technology is a full-time course for students aged 16-18 who want to develop advanced digital and technical skills for careers in the IT industry or progression to university.
Delivered at our Willesden Campus, this course combines practical, hands-on learning with theoretical knowledge. You will study in modern IT facilities equipped with industry-standard networking infrastructure, supported by experienced and industry-qualified tutors.
Equivalent to three A Levels, this qualification provides a strong foundation for careers in software development, cyber security, networking, data analysis and digital technologies.

After completing this course, you can progress to:
- University degrees in Information Technology, Computer Science or related subjects
- Higher Education courses such as HNC/HND in Computing
- Apprenticeships in IT, software development or cyber security
- Entry-level roles such as IT Support Technician, Junior Developer or Network Assistant
Assessment is through a combination of coursework and externally assessed units. You will complete practical projects, assignments and tasks that reflect real industry scenarios, building a portfolio of work.
- 4–5 GCSEs (grades 4–5), including English and Maths (flexibility may apply)
- OR Level 2 qualification
- An interview may be required; we’ll be in touch after you apply to invite you to an interview if needed
- Alternative entry via relevant experience may be acceptable
- Equivalent to three A Levels, supporting progression to university
