GCSE Maths
GCSE Maths is designed for adult learners who want to gain a recognised GCSE qualification to improve career prospects, access further education or build confidence in maths. This one-year, part-time course follows the Pearson Edexcel GCSE Maths (9–1) specification and develops essential skills for both everyday life and professional use.
Awarding Body:
You will study the key mathematical topics required for GCSE success, building your knowledge and problem-solving skills.
You will learn through classroom-based teaching, supported by homework, regular assessments and independent study.

- Geometry and measures
- Statistics
- Probability
After successfully completing this course, you can progress to:
- Further education or university courses
- Vocational qualifications and apprenticeships
- Improved employment and promotion opportunities
You will also develop valuable numerical skills that can be applied in everyday life, including budgeting, data interpretation and problem-solving.
Assessment is carried out through three final GCSE examinations at the end of the course:
- Two calculator papers
- One non-calculator paper
You must complete all three exams to achieve the qualification. You will be entered for either Foundation or Higher tier, depending on your progress and ability.
Regular internal assessments and mock exams will take place throughout the year to monitor your progress and prepare you for final exams.
You will be assessed through our dedicated GCSE Maths Initial Assessment which aims to gauge whether or not your current skills are sufficient to enable you to achieve A*-C with us in one year. For those not yet ready for GCSE, Functional Skills lessons at the appropriate level will be made available to provide a bridge to future enrolment onto the GCSE programme
