The GCSE English Language course is designed for adult learners who want to achieve a recognised GCSE qualification and improve their reading, writing and communication skills for work, further study and everyday life. Whether you are aiming to achieve a Grade 4 (C) or improve your confidence in English, this course provides a structured and supportive pathway to success.
You will develop essential English skills through the study of a range of fiction and non-fiction texts, alongside practical writing and communication tasks.
You will learn through a combination of teacher-led lessons, group discussions, practical exercises and independent study to build confidence and exam readiness.

Assessment is carried out through final GCSE examinations only.
For GCSE, you will need to have gained a grade 3 or a grade D in English Language at any point in the past, or you will need to demonstrate equivalent knowledge and skills by taking an initial assessment.
The fee for this course is £360.00.
The amount you pay may depend on your individual circumstances, including your age, residency status, employment status, whether you receive certain benefits, and how the course is funded. You may be eligible to study for free or receive help towards the cost of your course.
Before completing enrolment, all learners aged 19 and over will have a fee assessment to confirm how much, if anything, they need to pay. You may be asked to provide evidence to support your eligibility for fee remission or funding. Any eligible fee reduction will be applied before your enrolment is completed.
