Our ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) courses are designed for learners whose first language is not English, who have not been through the English education system, or who have lived in the UK for less than 8 years. You can gain a first UK qualification to help you access other courses in the college. Our courses help you develop essential English skills to support your progression into other further education courses, employment or everyday life in the UK.
You will study key English language skills across the academic year (reading, writing, speaking) to build your confidence step by step.
You will learn through classroom-based teaching, group activities, discussions and practical tasks designed to support real-life communication.
Courses are available at different levels, and you will be placed on the most suitable level following an initial assessment.

Dependent on the Level of study; once the subject has been successfully completed students will either receive a college certificate for Foundation courses or and Ascentis Certificate for learners studying at that level. All learners (other than Pre-Entry) will study Employability and will receive a college certificate on successful completion.
