ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages)
ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) courses are available for both 16–18 learners and adults at our Maida Vale Campus. These courses are designed to help you develop the English language skills needed to live, work and study confidently in the UK. Whether you want to improve your communication skills, progress to further study, gain employment or move on to university, our ESOL courses provide a supportive and flexible pathway.
You will develop your English skills across a range of levels, from Entry Level 1 to Level 2, while also building confidence and employability skills.
You will learn through interactive lessons, group activities, projects and real-life scenarios to support your everyday communication.
- Speaking, listening, reading and writing skills
- Grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation
- Functional Skills and GCSE Maths (where appropriate)
- Business and personal skills development
- Community and employer projects
- Educational and cultural visits
- Enrichment activities
After successfully completing this course, you can progress to:
- Higher ESOL levels (up to Level 2)
- Vocational and skills-based courses
- Further education or university pathways
- Employment or self-employment opportunities
Assessment is carried out throughout the course and may include:
- Speaking, listening, reading and writing assessments
- Coursework and class-based activities
- Ongoing tutor feedback and progress reviews
- Learners aged 16+ (separate courses for 16–18 and adults)
- English is not your first language
- Completion of an initial assessment to determine your level
- Improve your English for everyday life, work and study
- Build confidence in communication
- Learn in a supportive and diverse environment
- Access enrichment activities, trips and employer events
