Electrical Installations Level 2 Diploma
The Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installation is designed for learners who want to start a career as an electrician in the building services engineering sector. This part-time course offers a flexible pathway to gain the practical skills and technical knowledge required for employment or progression within the electrical industry.
Awarding Body:
You will develop your skills through a combination of hands-on workshop training and theoretical classroom learning, delivered in industry-standard facilities.
- Health and safety in building services engineering
- Principles of electrical science
- Electrical installations technology
- Installation of wiring systems and enclosures
- Communication within building services engineering
You will also build essential workplace skills such as communication, teamwork and problem-solving to support your progression into employment.
After successfully completing this course, you can progress to:
- Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installations
- Electrical apprenticeships
- Further training in building services engineering
- Entry-level roles within the electrical or construction sector
Assessment is carried out through a combination of practical assessments, coursework and knowledge-based tasks. You will demonstrate your ability to complete electrical installation work safely and effectively.
- 2 or more GCSEs (grade 3 and above) or English & Maths Functional Skills (Level 2) (flexibility may apply)
- An interview may be required; we’ll be in touch after you apply to invite you to an interview or we'll hold these during enrolment
- Alternative entry via relevant experience may be acceptable
- Adult applicants may require an intial assessment if maths and English certificates are not available to check they are working at a suitable level

You will be supported throughout your course by experienced tutors, with access to additional learning support if required. Students may also take part in national and regional skills competitions, providing opportunities to showcase their skills, build confidence and connect with employers in the electrical industry.
