Construction Skills Level 2 Diploma
Construction Skills Level 2 Diploma is designed for learners aged 16-18 who want to build on their existing knowledge and take the next step towards a career in the construction industry. This practical, hands-on course develops your skills across a range of construction trades while giving you a deeper understanding of the sector. It is ideal for those looking to progress to further training, an apprenticeship, or employment in construction.
Awarding Body:
You will learn through a combination of practical workshop sessions and theoretical learning in industry-standard facilities.
- Carpentry and joinery
- Plastering
- Bricklaying
- Painting and decorating
- Plumbing
- Electrical installation
You will also develop knowledge of health and safety, construction processes, and professional working practices, alongside key employability skills such as teamwork and communication.
After completing the Level 2 Diploma, you could progress to: A Level 3 construction or trade-specific qualification A construction apprenticeship Entry-level employment in the construction sector
Assessment is carried out through practical tasks and coursework. There are no formal exams, allowing you to demonstrate your skills through hands-on work and project-based learning.
- 2–4 GCSEs (grades 2, 3 or 4) OR Level 1 qualification (flexibility may apply)
- Ideally English or maths at grade 3–4, or willingness to study alongside
- An interview may be required; we’ll be in touch after you apply to invite you to an interview if needed
- Alternative entry via relevant experience may be acceptable
