A Civil Engineering Technician provides technical support to engineers and other construction professionals in the design, development, construction, commissioning, decommissioning, operation or maintenance of the built environment and infrastructure.
A Civil Engineering Technician provides technical support to engineers and other construction professionals in the design, development, construction, commissioning, decommissioning, operation or maintenance of the built environment and infrastructure.
Technicians will be required to have a broad skills base to work in areas which include sustainable construction, structural integrity, tunnelling, marine and coastal engineering, waste management, flood management, transportation and power.
This Level 3 apprenticeship is equivalent to 2x A Level passes.
Typically
this apprenticeship will take 24 months to complete.

qualification provides employees with the essential underpinning knowledge and
understanding that would be needed to function competently in a civil
engineering job role with some responsibility for management of work.

This
element of the programme is delivered within the apprentices' workplace, and is
a collaborative approach from employers and the college. This will enable all
apprentices to demonstrate occupation competency and develop all required skills
and professional behaviours.

Your knowledge will be assessed through a mixture of examinations and assignments for the qualification units and any functional skills you need to take will be assessed online.

All apprenticeship standards require apprentices to complete an end point assessment to successfully achieve the apprenticeship qualification. For this apprenticeship standard the end point assessment is:

The college will also conduct pre EPA assessments in collaboration with employers and apprentices to ensure all apprentices are competent when progressing onto end point assessment.
All apprentices are required to allocate 20% of their weekly working hours towards the completion of the apprenticeship programme.
