CIEH Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering
Everyone who wants to or works with food has a special responsibility for safeguarding the health of consumers and to ensure that the food they serve or sell is perfectly safe to eat. The food safety qualifications have been designed to suit employees in all types of food business. Refreshment of the food safety qualifications is recommended at least every three years.

- The laws as they apply to Food in Catering Businesses
- Food Safety Hazards
- Temperature Controls
- Food Handlers
- Refrigeration Chilling and Cold Holding of Food
- Cooking Hot Holdings and Reheating Food
- Principles of Safe Food Storage Food Safety
- Cleaning in Catering Businesses
- Food Premised and Equipment
Learners must successfully complete the assessments for the units to achieve the qualification.
- 2–4 GCSEs (grades 2, 3 or 4) OR Level 1 qualification (flexibility may apply)
- Ideally English or maths at grade 3–4, or willingness to study alongside
- An interview may be required; we’ll be in touch after you apply to invite you to an interview if needed
- Alternative entry via relevant experience may be acceptable
