CERTIFICATE FOR THE CHILDREN & YOUNG PEOPLE’S WORKFORCE (QCF) L2
The course includes a combination of mandatory units and optional units which provide a minimum credit value of 35. Learners will be supported on a practical placement working with children which should be three days a week. Mandatory units cover topics such as communication, personal development, equality and inclusion, safeguarding, health and safety and first aid.
It is essential to demonstrate at interview that you have a commitment to children and that you are mature enough to put children's needs first. Applicants need to demonstrate an understanding of written and spoken English. References are taken up for all applicants and you must be able to pass a CRB check. You will need to work in a nursery on a voluntary or paid basis for a minimum of 16 hours a week and be able to attend College for one day a week.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
