A Building Services Design Technician apprenticeship provides overarching responsibility for Servicing, maintaining and commissioning services within a building such as planning and administering refurbishments of lighting, heating, ventilation, lifts etc.
A Building Services Design Technician apprenticeship provides overarching responsibility for Servicing, maintaining and commissioning services within a building such as planning and administering refurbishments of lighting, heating, ventilation, lifts etc.
This level 3 apprenticeship is equivalent to 2x A Level passes.
Typically this apprenticeship will take 24 months to complete.

Environment
This qualification provides apprentices with the essential
underpinning knowledge and understanding that would be needed to function
competently in a building service based job role with some responsibility for
management of work.

Electrical Principles in Building Services Engineering
Apprentices could progress into roles such as: Engineering Technician Manager Assistant Project Manager
Your knowledge will be assessed through a mixture of assignments for the qualification units and any functional skills you need to take will be assessed online.
The skills and behaviours will be assessed through a portfolio of work based evidence.
You will be required to complete End Point Assessment to achieve your apprenticeship.
End Point Assessment will include:
Stage 1
A work based
project
A written report
Stage 2
Presentation based on work based project and Q&A
Structured
interview based on the written report and portfolio of evidence
The college will also conduct pre EPA assessments in collaboration with employers and apprentices to ensure all apprentices are competent when progressing onto end point assessment.
All apprentices are required to allocate 20% of their weekly working hours towards the completion of the apprenticeship programme and required off the job hours.

This component is completed as a tripartite function between the college, employer and apprentice and enables an apprentice to understand their own rights and responsibilities within the workplace, and must be evidenced prior to the completion of the apprenticeship
