Bricklaying Level 2
Our Bricklaying Level 2 course at the College of North West London is designed for learners who want to build a career in the construction industry or develop their existing bricklaying skills with a recognised qualification. Whether you’re new to the trade or already working in construction, this course will help you gain advanced bricklaying techniques, improve your confidence, and develop the practical skills employers are looking for. You’ll also strengthen key workplace skills such as problem-solving, teamwork, communication, and technical accuracy.
Awarding Body:
On this intermediate bricklaying course, you will develop hands-on skills and industry knowledge through a mix of practical workshop sessions and classroom-based learning.
You will learn how to construct and work on:
- Fireplaces
- Blockwork with piers
- Cavity walling
- Segmental arches
- Raking cuts
In our fully equipped workshops, you’ll gain experience using hand and power tools, handling materials safely, and building complex brick structures. Theory lessons will support your understanding of construction principles, ensuring you meet industry standards.
After completing this Level 2 Bricklaying course, you can:
- Progress to a Level 3 Bricklaying qualification
- Move into employment in the construction industry
- Pursue an apprenticeship in bricklaying or construction trades
Students may also have opportunities to take part in regional and national skills competitions, showcasing their abilities and enhancing employability.
Assessment is carried out through a combination of:
- Practical assessments in workshop environments
- Written and theory-based tasks to test underpinning knowledge
Your progress will be monitored throughout the course, with regular feedback from experienced tutors to help you achieve your qualification.
- 2–4 GCSEs (grades 2, 3 or 4) OR Level 1 qualification (flexibility may apply)
- Ideally English or maths at grade 3–4, or willingness to study alongside
- An interview may be required; we’ll be in touch after you apply to invite you to an interview if needed
- Alternative entry via relevant experience may be acceptable
This cost of this course is £1,344.00.
