Bookkeeping Level 3 Certificate
AAT Level 3 Certificate in Bookkeeping is designed for learners who want to develop more advanced bookkeeping skills and progress within the accounting and finance sector. This qualification builds on Level 2 knowledge and focuses on complex financial processes, accuracy and professional standards, preparing you for skilled roles or further study.
Awarding Body:
You will gain a deeper understanding of bookkeeping principles and financial management used in real business environments.
You will learn through a combination of classroom teaching, practical exercises and independent study to develop both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
- Financial accounting: preparing financial statements
- Advanced bookkeeping techniques
- Preparing final accounts for sole traders and partnerships
- Understanding Tax processes and controls
After successfully completing this course, you can progress to:
- Further accounting and finance qualifications
- Employment in roles such as senior bookkeeper or accounts assistant
Assessment is carried out through:
- Computer-based exams for each unit
- 4–5 GCSEs (grades 4–5), including English & Maths
- OR Level 2 Certificate in Bookkeeping at a Merit or Distinction

- Alternative entry via relevant experience may be acceptable
