A Level Psychology is designed for learners aged 16-18 who are interested in understanding human behaviour, mental processes and scientific research. As a science-based subject, Psychology combines theory, research and data analysis to help you explore how people think, feel and behave, preparing you for university study and a wide range of careers.
You will study key psychological theories and research, developing your understanding of how behaviour is explained and investigated scientifically.
You will learn through a combination of classroom teaching, experiments, research activities and independent study, alongside opportunities to attend educational trips and events.
You will also develop skills in scientific enquiry, data analysis and mathematical calculations relevant to psychological research.
After successfully completing this course, you can progress to:
Psychology is widely recognised as a science subject and complements a range of A Level combinations.
Assessment is carried out through three external written examinations at the end of the course.
